Back in Africa

The True Adventure Continent

Hey guys!

WELP, didn’t see this happening so soon… After living in Kenya for 4 years (feels just like yesterday), we said we wouldn’t be back for at least a year. BUT, 9 months later, we found ourselves back in Tanzania and Kenya, doing what we love most, safaris! 🦒

Tracey making a new friend.

If we are being honest, we had a bit of mixed feelings about coming back so soon but it was funny, when we landed, we both looked at each other and agreed that it felt so “familiar” and carried a “home” feeling.

The next three weeks consisted of 11 safari properties! While it was crazy, exhausting and fast, it was also where we had some of our best chats about what we want for the future, directions of the channel and more. There is something about looking out into nature with free roaming wildlife that resets your mind. BUT, more on that later…

This was our first time going to Ngorogoro Crater and even the Serengeti! I’m not sure what I expected from Ngorogoro but it was 1000x more stunning that I could have imagined. As you are descending into the crater it hits you how grand and unique this is. One thing I will say is, i’m not sure if I would come in high season. After chatting with guides, high season can allow for 400 trucks to be in the crater leading to having to wait up to 30 minutes to be able to see a sighting due to queuing. Luckily for us, we were in low season and had every sighting to ourselves! We stayed at Elewana’s Ngorogoro Manor and this definitely needs to be added to your bucket list!

On to the Serengeti… if you love lions, this is the place for you. Massive prides of over 20, we had an incredible sighting with a pride of lions that had 12 little cubs, eating , and then splashing around in the water. Dave and I both agree that this is the top safari moment we have had to date! After visiting 4 different camps, in different regions of the Serengeti, we really got a feel for the area.

After exploring the Serengeti we then crossed the border into Kenya, continuing to the Maasai Mara for the last week of our trip. It was oddly like coming home.. all the memories came flooding back of us driving our 4x4 every weekend to go on safari. Not shocking that we had such a great time at the lodges we stayed at but special shout out to Pearl Mara for their absolutely Michelin star worthy food… not only in the bush, but it was some of the BEST food we have ever had, PERIOD!

Come on safari with us!

Now, here’s where the business chat comes in. For the past 2 years we have been floating around the idea of running a luxury safari group trip either in Tanzania or Kenya or both over the span of 10-14 days. We would take you to 3-4 different camps and show you what different safari regions have to offer. If this is something you think you would be interested in, fill out THIS GOOGLE FORM and we will go from there. Current timeline we are thinking is mid 2026.

Well, that’s it for now! If you want to see our entire trip, the series has just concluded on YouTube so feel free to check out the videos! :)

Until next time,

Dave and Tracey
